Assalam-o-alaikum wish you all the good day and I am really sorry for taking too long to update this page of yours. But hey! Believe me this time I really came up with something very interesting to you. Those entire questions you want to ask but never had clear answers. So here you go. Why you spend much time and nerve when you the opinion of not one not two but of more than hundreds I mean more than 200.

So here is the result of the research conducted regarding everything you want to know about ACCA or CAT. This research is conducted through World Wide Web means.

What is the best institute for ACCA/CAT in Lahore?

With SKANS and CFE students are found more satisfied whereas PAC being an icon missed the beats.

What is the best institute for ACCA/CAT in Karachi?

In Karachi beyond any doubt CAMS is chosen the best institute by the voters. However, AL-Hamd institute is giving the CAMS a very tough competition and is almost head to head with CAMS.

What is the best book for ACCA/CAT preparation?

BPP and FTC (Kaplan) book series are found favorite among students with more inclination towards FTC. Also to mention FTC exam tips is one of the book series that every student wants to have.

Is CAT difficult?

Large number of students agreed on the point that CAT is NOT very difficult and an average student is capable of doing it easily. However, when asked whether one should start it after matriculation or its equal counterpart o-level, majority was of the opinion that one should not jump into this with this much short academics.

ACCA vs. local degrees (B.Com, MBA)

ACCA is preferred, with big majority, over local degrees like MBA or B.Com. When asked why this is so, the answer was pretty straight forward: "Local degrees like B.Com proves no good to your carrier, rather wasting your time for 2 years, which is now 4 years, you are really at loss if you compare the time investment with ACCA which you can do with in 4.5 years including CAT". However most of the students want to do the MBA with their ACCA certification but only from selected institutes like Lahore School of Economics (LSE) or Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Should one do CAT before doing ACCA?

No clear decision came out on this. Respondents were found divided almost half and half on this. Some said its better to do CAT before ACCA but other were improvising on their opinion by saying why waste time on 5-9 papers when you can do the same in 3 papers with a bit over average effort.

ACCA vs. CA

In Pakistan ACCA is second only to CA, and to be very frank students of ACCA were found very "noisy" over this. At every point, at every opportunity CA keep its lead over ACCA. In order to put CAs to the test ACCA students have a new plan ACCA+MBA that really is AN idea. However some said that ACCA is a substitute to CA because of its global recognition and "easy to study" syllabus as compared to CA and in addition to that less time to complete the certification.

What is the most difficult paper in CAT?

T5 is found as one of the most difficult paper in CAT and after T7 was voted as most difficult.

What is the scope ACCA in Pakistan?

This question really came up with very different answer beside the huge potential of accounting and information technology growth in Pakistan in recent years.

Majority said that there is no scope in Pakistan for ACCA qualified person. Then where can we find that "scope" thingy, they said England and the Middle East are the heavens for the ACCAs.

In how much time one can do CAT?

Results reported that one can do CAT in 1 or at most 1.5 years max.

Should one attempt 5 or 9 papers of CAT?

Population was found indifferent towards attempting 5 papers over 9 papers set. The most powerful opinion that came was that one should attempt 9 papers as student can have the CAT certificate and the full attempt will definitely be helping him later in ACCA papers.

How much ACCA qualified can earn?

Well answer to this question was given with much "this and that's" and of the big condition was of which firm you have articles under your belt. With articles from one of the BIG-4s one can earn 45,000 in start. In UAE or Middle East population was of the opinion that one can earn more than 7,500 dirhams

When articles should be started in ACCA certification?

Keeping in view its difficulty level many suggested that articles should be started after level 2 but professionals are of the view that one should start articles after its completion.

In how much time one can do ACCA including CAT?

One unanimous voice "3.5 to 4 years" is the period in which one can complete ACCA including CAT.

Why students choose ACCA?

Well, not like other qualifications, most of the students enter into this with proper plan and vision. But there is no less than majority who choose ACCA who left with no options and not surprisingly some of the population started this because of his/her relatives were doing the same.

Should one do a job while doing ACCA?

Voters found no harm in doing the job simultaneously with studies however they prefer not to do the job.

Should one opt for giving 4 papers at one time?

Well it depends on the papers to be attempted and on student himself too. If one can digest more in less time he/she can avail the option to the fullest extent but as a caution population warned to make the haste.

Which is the easiest and most difficult paper in ACCA?

F5 and F7 are voted as among the easiest paper to pass in ACCA certification but on the other hand F8 was voted as the most difficult to get through. Putting everything in words than its safe to say that LAW, TAXATION and AUDITING are the subjects with which students are found unhappy.

What to do after ACCA?

Vast majority answered that they will be doing CA (after claiming exemption up to CA-Inter i.e. module D) Or CFA.

What should be the salary of qualified ACCA without prior experience?

Salary up to 20,000 is acceptable to the mob in absence of any experience.

From which firm one should do his/ her articles?

BIG-4 is an obvious choice for everyone but still likings were noticed. Price Water Cooper PWC and Ford Rhodes were the most favorite firms of all. After ranking accountancy firms some said its better to gain accounting experience from one of the multinational companies.

Which is the best option for claiming exemptions for ICAEW?

Big majority voted that candidate should opt for paper P6 and P7 for claiming exemptions for ICAEW qualification.

  8. well nihal its good that u want to adopt acca. after ur 21 u can start acca by using Mature Student Entry Route or MSER...

its easy. once ur 21 years of age u can register with acca.

once ur registered u can sit in the exams.

    thanks for asking

    ReplyDelete
  9. in MSER u have to give F2 and F3 first, with in 2 years of registeration. once u passed both f2 and f3 than u r eligible to sit in f1 and other papers.

  13. can i do ACCA alongwith my BBA????

    ReplyDelete
  14. To ayesha:
ACCA is a heart favorite qualification among enterprises hiring professionals and students. Its extensive and clear definition of syllabus makes it better then any BBA or MBA. However, doing BBA is not bad while doing ACCA.
Another thing as an info, once you complete ACCA you can apply to Oxford Brookes University, a uk based uni, for BBA which u can get by writing a thesis paper.

    ReplyDelete
  15. To saima:
Yes u can do ACCA while doing BBA, very big number students are doing this. We even know some students who are doing CA with ACCA and/or CFA.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Is ACCA hard for pre medical students?plz let me know...m waiting.

    ReplyDelete
  17. we find no reason which will make pre medical students not doing ACCA.

Premedical students are sometimes get afraid of mathematics, but in ACCA we dont have any technical mathematics.

So dont worry if u want to do it, have some counseling from any experienced ACCA or ur teacher and do it :)

  18. can one do ACCA and CAT only on the basis of maticulation exams??????without giving the exams of 1st and 2nd year ????

However for ACCA u cannot do ACCA right after matric.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Ali Raza,
well its not possible for u to get internship right after CAT, but it is possible that u may get a job. But still it depends. However, at this much early stage its almost impossible for u to get either a job or internship straight after CAT. We think that u must continue with studies and do ACCA.

Well good marks in this field are only possible if u have a good approach, moreover, these two complement each other.

    Thanks
    Kaka

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well we are expanding our database and we are also thinking of launching online tutoring on CAT and some of the ACCA subjects...

  30. Can u plz tell me how much hours are necessary for a person regularly to get good marks in CAT and ACCA?and is ACCA tough,Even if a person do his work regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Ali,
well its something that depends on the student and the source from where he/she is knowing the subject. if u have good teacher and u r putting efforts in the subject it will be easy for u and may be u dont have to give much time to it.

    Regards

  32. Assalam-o-alaikum.
Thanx for Reply. Can u plz tell me what is worth of ACCA in UAE(Specially Kuwait and Oman). Is ACCA worth there as its worth is in UK etc.

    ReplyDelete
  33. well ACCA is a profession in itself... and memebers of ACCA are never dealt like ordinary professionals. wherever u go u will have ur own distinction with urself... but yeah salary is different for different parts of the world... but dont expect anything as whole word is under recession so if u decide on salary basis that will not be a good idea as whenever this recession will vanish ACCAs will be enjoying great salaries everywhere

    ReplyDelete
  34. ok.Don't u think that because of a huge competition from all over the world in ACCA.Will ACCA never lose its value. For example now a days everyone is doing B.com today. And because of this,B.com has lost its value that it had before. What about ACCA?

    ReplyDelete
  35. As per the salary surveys conducted by Robert Walters, Hays, etc, in UK ICAEW and CIMA new qualifieds are paid 5000-8000 GBP higher than ACCAs where as if they work on the basis of per hour rate, then that's almost same. On CIMA official website, www.cimaglobal.com it's clearly mentioned that survey conducted proved that CIMAs are paid 18% higher than ACCAs.

  49. Hi Tayyab,
Hope that this message will be received by u in good spirits.
Dear, getting information regarding ACCA is not a problem, just visit any institute near u conduction ACCA classes and the student coordinator will help u or visit www.accaglobal.com.

Now as ur saying that u have good marks in engineering and can also get admission and also ur parents are inclined towards engineering and more than that ur saying they cannot afford CAT, than i think situation is pretty simple and not much braining is required on this matter. You should go for engineering.

But if u think that u can make ur parent satisfied on CAT on ACCA, have a meeting with them, listen to them why they want u to do engineering and then after that request them why u want to do acca or cat.

I will not advise u to do anything counter to ur parents will unless u make them satisfied as they are in much better position to assess everything around them as compared to me and u.

Bro, ACCA or CAT is not the end of the world, We personally have seen engineers now doing ACCA instead of MBA, which was previously the best degree to go along with engineering. So it means even after doing engineering u have the option to opt for ACCA. It just depend on u how much hungry u r to study more and more :)

    Regards,
    Kaka

    ReplyDelete
  50. Our advice is that u should stick with articles, as doing job will limit ur knowledge one particular segment of accountancy in which ur enterprise has assigned u.

Talking about salary without experience after doing acca is heart renching. Without experience no professional knowledge is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kaka

  52. Hello Tayyab,
Hope ur great in ur spirits.

Well we certainly not agree with the claim that acca is not a good degree. ACCA is one of the fastest growing profession in the world.

The point is sometimes we can't compare two different qualifications even if they are related to one professional field.

CA and ACCA are one of the best professions to be chosen as carrier and both have their own capacity in the market.

CA and ACCA both have equally good opertunities in dubai and other parts of the world its just upto the student how he uses his knowledge and stand out from the crowd.

    Regards,
    Kaka
